The Company was founded in Arendal, Norway in October 2007, by the major Japanese shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd.(“K” Line).
The Company passed an important milestone in its development when it ordered 6 new built vessels in 2007, and took delivery of a UT755L PSV, the “KL Arendalfjord” (built 2004), in October 2008, and started operation in the North Sea.
The Company took delivery of two large, 34,000bhp Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels (AHTS) and four large, 5,100DWT Platform Supply Vessels (PSV) from STX OSV (today VARD), and these state-of-art vessels were delivered between Q3 2010 to Q2 2011. All new builds were designed to be environmentally friendly “CLEAN DESIGN” vessels.
The Company established a close cooperation with the OSM Maritime Group in Arendal by entering into supervision agreements as well as agreements for technical management and crewing of our vessels.
After delivery of the vessels in 2010/2011 the Company secured long term contracts for the PSVs with Petrobras in Brazil and ConocoPhillips in UK sector. The powerful AHTS with bollard pull of 390 and 397 tons were well received in the market and are still preferred units for the charterer`s.
